Simit Success

I think I have found whole grain simit.

It was dark and chewy and covered in sunflower, sesame, flax and who knows what other seeds.

I know that we can sometimes be fooled in the good ol’ US of A by dark breads masquerading as whole grain thanks to manufacturers who know we want to be more health conscious but feel they just can’t give us the real deal anyways.

But I’m in study abroad land, where everything is a fairy tale.

On the bus, when someone crams their way in through the back door, they not only immediately pass their card up to the front to make sure they pay their fare, but that card, loaded with cash, safely makes its way hand to hand all the way back to them.

Any time of day, there are people happily sipping tea and coffee doing absolutely nothing and loving it.

People still do that whole relationship thing. I guess wham bam thank you ma’am ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.

And the list goes on and on.

‘Murica, are you taking notes?

With that, I will continue to enjoy my delusions.
